- Indoor Pollution - What does it means? There are people who spend 90% of their time indoors. Pollution does not mean only the black or grey smoke pumped into the sky by chimney stack, car, etc.
- What could you breathe in by just being at home? Furniture and fixings are all giving of dust and gasses, but still we use them.
- Do you know the fact that your bed, sofas are adding to pollution by producing dust from the break down of the fibers in it, the repeated use weakens the fibers and they break down to a small enough size for us to breath them in.
- Dusts made up of skin cells, moulds, bacteria, animal dander, viruses and pollen is breathed in by you every day.
- What can be done? Firstly your house should have good ventilation for the air to get replaced.
- Let your windows be opened to let the fresh air inside to dilute the pollutants. By using air fresheners, you end up breathing that in too which can just make things worse.
- Secondly, always breathe through your nose and avoid mouth breathing, as this bypasses the natural filters in your nose and allows foreign debris into your airways causing health problems.
